​This position is responsible for driving a positive news agenda, analyst reporting and articulating a compelling vision for how this organization matters to consumers, business and government in the high-growth developing markets of South East Asia, alongside the more mature markets of Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.

This role has the accountability to set targets for high impact original articles in IT, lifestyle and business media, in print, broadcast and online, to achieve those targets and report back to stakeholders.  Specifically you will help ensure the leverage and extension of global programs with local POV, customers, spokespeople and context.

The person will be able to understand and interpret key economic, political, social and technology trends and have strong knowledge of key influencers in the region.

  • Create, drive and evaluate communications messaging, planning and platforms to include IT, business, digital and electronic media

  • Develop a key strategic media and influencer list across key markets in the region – segmenting across business, trade, new media, lifestyle and telecast media and analysts

  • Outline hot topics, trends, key needs and inclusions for strategic media and influencer success

  • Leverage content from the business and company narrative to develop and deliver the country MD Communications plan to key media, analysts and influencers

  • Establish executable action plans with clear targets, linkage to business objectives and stakeholder buy-in

  • Manage both the strategic relationship with the agency to ensure tight alignment and quality and the tactical roadmap of programs – to enable the quality delivery of programs in these markets directly driven by the agency in-market

Key competencies will include teamwork, initiative, results oriented, communication and business/financial acumen.

The ideal person will require 10+ years’ experience in the Communications Industry with experience of having worked across APAC and knowledge of the tech sector.
